The DEADLINE to opt-in and transfer your account to Giant Bomb's new site is November 30, 2025!
What’s happening here, and why do I need to opt in?
As you may have heard by now, Fandom has sold the entirety of Giant Bomb to Jeff Bakalar and Jeff Grubb. They formed an LLC called Jeffinitely so that they could receive the business. This marks an ownership change, and to comply with domestic and international personal data protection laws, we need our users to opt-in and agree to have the user data transferred over to us.
Who is Jeffinitely?
Jeffinitely is the new company that Jeff Bakalar and Jeff Grubb formed to purchase and receive the Giant Bomb business. It will serve as the sole entity operating Giant Bomb moving forward, and is currently operated by both Jeffs, Jan Ochoa, Mike Minotti, and Dan Ryckert.
Will I lose everything in my account if I don’t opt-in?
You will lose the ability to carry your current Giant Bomb account to the new website when it launches later this year. If you don’t opt-in before the launch, you’ll need to create a new account and possibly lose your current username. Anything you have posted to the site over the years will likely carry over, it’s just that your connection to that content will be severed, and your prior account information will be deleted from Fandom’s servers.
Will my GB Premium account go away if I don’t opt-in?
No. A third-party called Recurly manages our membership accounts. That said, you will need to opt-in here so that you can manage the connection between your Recurly account and your Giant Bomb account (when you sign up for Premium, both a Recurly and Giant Bomb account are automatically created). If you let the opt-in deadline pass, you’ll need to email support@giantbomb.com after the site relaunch so that we can attach your new Giant Bomb account to your existing Recurly account.
What if I’m only signing up for Premium now?
No problem. Anyone who signs up for a Giant Bomb account and/or Premium between now and the launch of the new giantbomb.com will have their account automatically transferred over.
Why am I still seeing the old Giant Bomb site? When will the new site launch?
We’re currently in a “Transition Period”– meaning Fandom will continue to host and maintain the site as normal until we’re able to flip the switch on the new giantbomb.com. You may see a few Fandom logos here and there between now and then. Our intent is to launch the new giantbomb.com on December 6, 2025.
All revenue is still going to Giant Bomb, right?
Yes, all subscription revenue now goes to Giant Bomb.
Tell me more about the new site?
The new website will include the full catalogue of video, podcasts, shows, articles, reviews, and more. We are doing our best to bring everything forward to the new website. You can find out more here.
I thought the sale happened back in May?
Fandom and Jeffinitely reached a binding agreement in May to commit to the sale of Giant Bomb. The paperwork takes a few months to complete, and we’re reaching that point now.
My question isn’t answered here. Who can I reach out to?
Please email us at support@giantbomb.com, or you can contact us via our social channels and we’ll get your sorted. If it makes sense, we’ll add your question to this list during the Transition Period.
